GOVERNMENT

Success through trust
and collaboration

Through our long-term relationship with the National Library of Medicine (NIH), Madisonfilm has developed internal policies and procedures that conform to government policies regarding accessibility issues such as transcription/closed-captioning, audio description, and foreign language dubbing.

We are accustomed to rapid-turnaround production and post-production for social media and other marketing needs. We approach all production with an eye towards multi-platform delivery.

RESEARCHER PROFILES

Through our work with the National Library of Medicine’s Office of Communications and Public Liaison, our team has produced dozens of short videos highlighting NLM’s intramural and extramural research programs. These videos are promoted through NLM’s social media channels and blogs, and frequently used to support senior leadership presentations.

OUTREACH GRANT  PROFILES

Through our work with the Engagement branch of the National Library of Medicine, Madisonfilm has produced a series of short-form documentary style “profiles” about the successful work of NLM grantees who have received funding through the Network of the National Library of Medicine. The series, titled “NNLM Discovery” includes short videos and podcast episodes.

NNLM DISCOVERY PODCAST

This podcast series explores how the Network of the National Library of Medicine – part of the National Institutes of Health – is engaging with communities to provide access to trusted information for the purpose of improving the public’s health.

EXHIBITIONS AND COLLECTIONS

Our team has produced media for numerous exhibitions including in-person kiosks and theater presentations as well as mobile and traveling experiences.

SHORTS AND REELS

we understand the power of repurposing long-form content into bite-sized YouTube Shorts and Instagram Reels. These formats are perfect for capturing attention in today’s fast-paced digital landscape. By distilling key moments from your existing content, we help you reach wider audiences, increase engagement, and drive more traffic to your original material. These short, impactful videos are ideal for boosting visibility and ensuring your message resonates across multiple platforms.

We are committed to Accessibility for All

Audio Description

Our team has led the effort to establish the National Library of Medicine as the government-wide leader in video accessibility.  We have done this by managing an efficient workflow for creating Audio-Described versions of every video that we produce.  NLM is the only government agency that has made this commitment.

Audio description (AD) is a narration of visual elements in a video or multimedia product that provides context and clarifies important information for visually-impaired audiences.  AD, in addition to captioning for the hearing-impaired, is a section 508 accessibility requirement.

Multi-lingual distribution

Madisonfilm’s team includes Spanish-speaking partners who are on-screen actors, narrators and translators.  Producing media in multiple languages involves more than the simple literal translations provided by some automated systems.  Our team brings cultural sensitivity and technical expertise to our multi-lingual productions.

NON-PROFIT & EDUCATION

We amplify your message and move people to action

We are passionate about using the power of creative media to amplify the voices of non-profit and educational organizations. Our work is centered on crafting compelling narratives that drive social impact and foster community engagement. Whether it’s through documentary storytelling, promotional videos, or digital campaigns, we help organizations share their mission and inspire action. We are committed to making a difference by producing content that educates, motivates, and transforms.

MUSEUMS & HISTORICAL SITES

We make history and culture accessible to all

We are dedicated to bringing history and culture to life through our creative media work with museums and historical sites.   Our team is honored to have worked with some of the most prestigious cultural institutions in the world, including the Smithsonian, National Gallery of Art, George Washington’s Mount Vernon, Colonial Williamsburg, and more.  We collaborate with these institutions to create immersive experiences that engage audiences and preserve cultural heritage. From documentary films and virtual tours to interactive exhibits, our projects are designed to educate, inspire, and connect people with the rich stories of the past. Through innovative storytelling, we help museums and historical sites reach broader audiences and make history and culture accessible to all
